On Monday, April 13th, a conference marking the launch of the project "Włocławek – a city of good economic vibes, environment, and comfortable living," implemented as part of the Polish-Swiss Cooperation Program, was held in the Concert Hall of the Czesław Niemen Music School Complex in Włocławek.
Representatives of the Swiss Embassy in Poland, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and the Association of Polish Cities participated in the event. Project partners from Włocławek County and the County Health Center, companies with Swiss capital, and newly appointed members of the Social Committee were also present.
80 million for transformation
Włocławek has secured PLN 80 million for its transformation, which aims to improve the quality of life in the city and create the best possible conditions for business, leisure activities, and a clean environment. As Krzysztof Kukucki, Mayor of Włocławek, emphasizes, this project is one of the main drivers for its success.
"PLN 80 million working for people. PLN 80 million changing the quality of life. PLN 80 million accelerating development. This is one of the main driving forces behind Włocławek's planned success, which will bring prosperity and improve the quality of life for our residents and the residents of the entire Włocławek region," said the Mayor of Włocławek during the project's launch conference.
The Swiss Ambassador to Poland also spoke about the project's importance for Włocławek, emphasizing that the city will implement initiatives to strengthen vocational education and entrepreneurship among small and medium-sized businesses.
"Today, you will move from the planning stage to the project implementation stage and to concrete actions. Włocławek is one of the cities that, as part of the program, emphasizes the city's further economic development, for example, by strengthening vocational education and supporting small and medium-sized businesses," said Fabrice Filliez, the Swiss Ambassador to Poland.
Two new parks, the extension of a major street, training courses, and much, much more!
The "Włocławek – a city with good vibes for the economy, environment, and comfortable living" project envisages the implementation of many important activities aimed at improving the quality of life of Włocławek's residents.
The project is divided into six thematic blocks: Vocational Włocławek, Entrepreneurial Włocławek, Green Włocławek, Cleanly Connected Włocławek, Healthy Włocławek, and Safe Włocławek.
Vocational Włocławek primarily involves the reconstruction of the school dormitory building at 1 Mechaników Street and expanding and adapting the offer of vocational qualification courses to the needs of the local labor market.
Enterprising Włocławek consists of four tasks: the construction of a road extending Marshal Józef Piłsudski Boulevard from Ogniowa Street to Włocławek. Barska, support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Włocławek through training and consulting, entrepreneurship classes in schools, and developing social and professional skills through volunteering from volunteering to full-time employment.
Green Włocławek includes the construction of Południa Park at the intersection of Wiejska and Zbiegniewska Streets, and the redevelopment of Grzywno Park, located in the Kazimierza Wielkiego Housing Estate. Green Włocławek will also include the creation of a public green space management system and workshops for residents – Włocławek as a biodiverse city.
A cleanly connected Włocławek includes the launch of the Włocławek City Bike – WŁOWER – and the development of documentation for the reconstruction and expansion of the existing Transfer Center in Włocławek into a multimodal transfer hub.
Healthy Włocławek is being implemented in partnership with the Włocławek County and the County Health Center, for which a CT scanner and related equipment have been ordered.
Safe Włocławek is a system that integrates monitoring, threat forecasting, and environmental warnings. This project will involve the creation of a Municipal Dispatch System.
In addition, the project is planning bilateral activities and activities related to improving employee competencies.
